ITPE 2020: Dear Podficcer Letter

chantress_songHello, awesome person! I'm super excited to be participating in ITPE this year, and I hope you are too! Attached is my (hopefully helpful) letter, complete with a (non-exhaustive) run-down of my tastes. So let's dive right in, shall we? :D

- The Witcher (Netflix series, books, games)
Secondary:
- Stargate SG-1
- Lord of the Rings (books and movies)
- Star Wars (Original and Prequel trilogies)

General likes:
- worldbuilding
- character studies/introspection
- beautiful/clever/unexpectedly poetic uses of language
- polyamory, including poly as a social norm (sedoretu AUs are my secret weakness!)
- humor/crack/not!fic
- mutual pining and UST

- smut, kink, and PWP, especially as a window into the inner workings of the character(s) involved

- dubcon where consent is equally dubious for everyone involved (sex pollen, aliens made them do it, fuck or die, etc.)
- AUs! Canon divergence, what-ifs, time travel, soul mates, daemons, alternate history, crossovers/fusions... basically I'm up for almost anything same-but-different you care to throw at me
- nontraditional A/B/O dynamics
- breeding/pregnancy/childbirth kink (including mpreg)
- queer/ace/trans headcanons
- queerplatonic relationships
- found family, especially of the "Welp, I can't get rid of these weirdos, so I guess they're my weirdos now??" variety
- sibling incest/twincest
- meta, whether for a specific fandom or just in general
General Do Not Wants:
- scat, vomit, vore, toilet humor
- music or sound effects overlapping excessively with the narration--I'm totally cool with you adding them if you'd like/the story calls for it, just be aware that I'd have trouble following the story if the added effects are happening concurrently with your voice.
- related to the above: sound switching back and forth from one ear to the otherwhatever the technical term for that is
- medical horror
- thinly-veiled immunization discourse, whether pro or anti; incidental mentions are okay (someone getting booster shots before traveling abroad, for instance), but characters having Opinions on the topic is a weirdly triggery area for me.
- misunderstandings/miscommunication, especially played for humor or as a plot device. If every single problem in the story can be solved merely by the characters talking to each other like adults for five goddamn minutes, it's safe to say it's not something I'd be into :P
- high-protocol or lifestyle D/s
- graphic on-screen torture or mutilation, especially in a sexual context
- parent/child incest
- love triangles not eventually resolved by turning into OT3s

(any fandoms listed above and not expanded on below can be considered more or less "anything goes" due to being really tiny and/or me not having any strong preferences besides "YES, MORE/ANY PODFIC FOR THIS")
The Witcher
*slaps top of fandom* This bad boy can fit so much fucking kink discovery in it
Seriously though, I like stuff in a Witcher context that I probably wouldn't have gone anywhere near in other fandoms, so, uh, don't worry too much about potentially squicking me with something weird that's not explicitly listed in my DNWs. XD
I'm also really into the smorgasbord approach lots of authors are taking re: mixing and matching from game/book/show canon to tell the stories they want to tell; really, I'm not so much specifically a fan of the various adaptations as I am of the nebulous meta-entity that encompasses them all. That said, I am currently more familiar with the show and books than I am with the games (apart from the first one), so just something to keep in mind. :)

- Geralt being the absolute king of deadpan trolling/snark

- Teal'c-centric stuff, especially exploring Jaffa culture and/or his adjustment to living on Earth

- not necessarily a hard no if he's included, but I'm pretty meh about Jonas

- Qui or Obi shipped with other characters (sex or relationships with other partners prior to the two of them getting together is fine)
